How long has it been since your family was in church services together? Too long? Maybe never? Most people have pretty good reasons why they do not
attend church. We are all so busy, Sunday is a good day for house work, and
churches are sometimes boring and irrelevant.
Our excuses always seem valid. Often in our busyness we forget what
matters most. You, your marriage, and your children need to know God and His
answers to life's problems. At the Burbank Church of Christ you will find these
answers and much more.
About Us
Welcome to the Burbank Church of Christ. We are pleased that you chose to visit
us. Burbank is a congregation that believes the Bible is the inspired word of
God. We attempt to worship as the members of the New Testament Church did in the
first century. We believe that the Bible provides us with the guide on how God
expects his people to conduct their lives and worship in service to Him, and we
diligently try to follow that guide.
If you are looking for a
Church, please consider us seriously. We want all to be involved in the work of the Church. We also have an
outstanding group of Bible teachers. We are active, loving, and
growing -- and invite you to be with us! The plea of the church of Christ is
primarily a plea for religious unity based upon the Bible. In a divided
religious world it is believed that the Bible is the only possible common
denominator upon which most, if not all, of the God-fearing people of the land
can unite. This is an appeal to go back to the Bible. It is a plea to speak
where the Bible speaks and to remain silent where the Bible is silent in all
matters that pertain to religion. It further emphasizes that in everything
religious there must be a "Thus says the Lord" for all that is done. The
objective is religious unity of all believers in Christ. The basis is the New
Testament. The method is the restoration of New Testament Christianity.
Our purpose is not to contribute to the religious
division that is so widespread in our society, nor to be a denomination or sect
(John 17:20-21, I Corinthians 1:10). Our purpose and plea is to direct men and
women back to the New Testament, back to God's original plan. If people in New
Testament times, by obeying the Gospel, could become Christians without joining
a denomination, so can we. If they became Christians without accepting a man
made creed or sectarian name, then so can we. We desire to be just what people
were in the days of the apostles; Christians only, no more, no less, no other.
If you are seeking the ways of God and want
to learn more about the Bible and God's will for your life, we encourage you to
study the Bible and use the Berean standard of Acts 17:11, so you can understand how to be obedient to God.
